They serve at least until 9:30. Past that, not sure.

It is predominantly BBQ. They also have burgers and sandwiches as well as some New Orleans tradirional fare. Prices are reasonable; most items range from $10-15. I have eaten here a number od times. Ypu will not be diaappointed. They also have a decent draft beer selection.
I am not sure, we don't live there we just happened by and ate. I was real good! I think for the 4 of us the bill was about $60.
I came for lunch. Fast friendly service. I ordered dry smoked chicken wings, burnt ends, alligator sausage and collard greens. The food was delicious.
The Atmosphere Staff Patrons were All Friendly. Our Bartender was Malorie She was Awesome. The Food Was Great.I had Grilled Chicken with Fries and Salad. My Old Man had the Platter with Alligator With Pulled Pork Coleslaw and French Fries and A Cheese Biscuit Bucket of Bud Light Crown and Sprite and Water.Everything From Front of House to Back of House Was Awesome Will be Back. The Food Was Served To Perfection. We Will Go Back.
The “owner” turned a lovely night into a fight with his customers. Not the place to chill. I loved this place for 10 years till I met the arrogant “owner”. He thought he knew me and asked me for my honest opinion. I told him that, despite the amazing staff, I missed the brisket platters...and it turned into a totally inappropriate argument! Holy cow! By the end, he became the most obtuse human being in the world! I’m pretty sure he was heavily intoxicated and just being power hungry and belligerent. I literally threw my food in the garbage after the way I was treated by the so-called “owner”. Thankfully, I have the slaw recipe and won’t be back. When I find out who he is, I will update this post. This is not the place it used to be and that is sad.
Great Comedy showcase, Super good service and excellent food!
After reading the comments it seems like it all depends on when you go whether you will have a good or bad experience with the staff. We went after a full day at the WWII national museum. Our experience was fine but it is kinda weird to order at the bar then pick up the food across the room. Everything we had was delicious. Even when I had enough I couldn't stop, it was too good!
Went on a Thursday night to watch the game. No table service. The meat was good. The chili and the "famous" slaw were not. The ginger ale was flat. Most though of the way though my meal, I saw a mouse searching the floor for food.
The wings were really good, nice sauce and awesome atmosphere. Very roomy and inviting.
The best!! And kid friendly! Indoor and outdoor seating. With multiple channels running on TVs. Awesome pulled pork and coleslaw!!
I had a good time here. They were playing 70-80 R&B / Motown type music which was a change. They seeve mostly pork and port sandwiches. I think they have a brisket sandwich. I purchased the combo platter with the pork tips and pulled pork. I purchased the loaded chili bean (fogot to photo) and a side of wings. This looks like one of new orleans many "hole in the wall" places that has good food
Cool spot. Good food
It was ok. The ribs could've been more tender.
Awesome food and Staff..
I think their model that you get your own food is flawed. I ordered my food, got it, then had to wait a solid 10 min to get a fork to eat my food. Food was great, don't get me wrong, but service needs improvement. To get a fork, i had to get in line. I feel that the bartender should have provided me one when i ordered. I started to eat the pulled pork without a fork
I loved this place! The staff was helpful and very friendly. Loved the bartender who I have forgotten the name of (sorry) but he was awesome! I got the brisket and grits which was so good! That sauce is banging (perfect mixnof sweet and savory) and the grits were really good (buttery deliciousness). My friend got the alligator sausage and she said that it was really good and tasted different than regular sausage (none of us particularly care for sausage). My other friend got the Mac and cheese. It's almost life changing my good. Definitely would recommend and would go back.
First time I visited, but it felt like I had been a regular for years. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. It's hard for BBQ to not be good, but the food here was excellent. There is a very relaxed, comforting feel to the place. All your interactions with the staff are at the bar, so there isn't any table service but they're ready to help.
The Ugly Dog Saloon Shrimp PoBoy was delicious.... Fast service..😍Sweet Pea
Casual atmosphere, friendly bartender, good food.
In town for a work convention. This was within walking distance of the hotel and many others. Looking for food a little later than normal this was the right place at the right time!Greeted with a smile from the bartender she informed us how the placing an order picking it up works. She did a fantastic job of getting our drinks whipped up lightning fast!BBQ pork sliders and Mac and cheese with some fries...easy enough and it all came out fast and hot! Another person at the table had a BBQ Pork potato that she loved! If in the area again I will definitely stop in for food and drinks. Thank you for being awesome on this day!Respectfully,Bryan OKC
Great food in a casual setting. We arrived the day after Mardi Gras. The only server was the bartender so we ordered our drinks and food at the bar then chose the place to sit.
Great atmosphere and the food was delicious!! Bartender and staff really make the place welcoming. I am here for a short time, but will have to go back!
No customer service. Rude staff. Menu is different when you go to order. I will never come here again. Owner, look at your staff. They will bring you down. Potato salad was gross and ribs were under cooked.
A little hot inside but besides that good food great service.
Staff is super cool! Very military/first responder friendly (discounts) and is a great place to enjoy some good food, draft beer and live entertainment including standup and music.
Great place. Really nice staff. Really good food. I shared my alligator chili with the whole table because it was that good.
Seemed great, dosen't cater for folks that don't eat meat. You are only going to enjoy the sides. Some folks enjoyed the food in our party. It's really up to you and your tastebuds.
Lafitte pig (think that's what its called) was delicious and filling. Couldnt even eat it all.
Was told something was available and when I got there it was not available.
This is probably my favorite restaurant in all of New Orleans. I stumbled upon this place hungry and tired but boy did this place deliver. The food options were creative and delicious. Their alcohol selection was stunning. If you're near the National WWII Museum then this is the place to eat. I can't sing their praises enough!
Just bbq that well be in your dreams. I found my self wishing that there was some stuck in my beard. Try the brunt ends. Mt goodness other places should not come burnt ends and just send them here. They do it right!!!
Amazing customer service and great food. Quick service and good atmosphere.
I recommend this place .Good Price for the area ,good food and the Brisket Panini,BBQ Pork Mac &Cheese Delicious!!
Casual restaurant and bar. Great place to watch the ball game. Nachos and wings are delicious!! Service is impeccable. Nice outdoor area as well.
Great place with great service! FYI to all Military and First Responders, Fridays have exclusive specials! My group and I thoroughly enjoyed this spot and would prioritize a return trip the next time I visit NOLA.
Nice laid back restaurant. Great burger and fries. Highly recommended!
Fast service. Friendly staff. Very nice selection of comfort foods at reasonable prices
Friendly staff and good BBQ. Order at the bar and pickup at back window. Ribs and burnt tips were great, BBQ sauce was sweet with a bite, and the biscuits were awesome. Pulled pork was fine...Watched a Buffalo Bills game with a couple in town from Dallas and another father and son who lived local, all of whom had western NY ties. Staff accommodated the out of towners - although this request may have been denied had the Saints been playing that day ;)
The food was pretty good here. The staff was really nice and the place has a really relaxed atmosphere. The coleslaw was really good. It has a homemade sauce on it that you can't get anywhere else. The fries are really good too. I've never seen fries liked that anywhere else. The burnt end sandwich was not bad.
I can't say enough great things about this place. After days of eating yummy cajun food in NOLA my husband and I needed a little change so we walked in the opposite direction of the main tourist spot and found this gem of a place. The Bartenders were so friendly. Good selection of tap beers and a full bar. More than anything the food was outstanding. Do yourself a favor and stop in here. Try the nachos. Also best coleslaw I've ever had.
Cosy little bar. Food was good and I enjoyed the atmosphere. My kinda place...
Just don't bother. It feels so strongly like the owners just don't care. The solo bartender has to yell at everyone coming in the door to get menus from her and seat themselves, then come up to the bar to order and pick up food at the window. There's even a cooler on the bar to pour your own water.A lot of places get away with being self service but this is designed as a bar and restaurant, so it just feels cheap. The bartender was great though
Great food! Great Service!!
After the swamp tour, a group of us went here for a late lunch. I ordered the deep fried oyster po boy with their special coleslaw. The coleslaw wasn't like any other coleslaw you would get at restaurants. The po boy was on point. Great dining atmosphere!
I was very disappointed in this. I realize they had just reopened, but the barbecue was boring and not properly cooked.
The service was lacking and the acoustics makes it very loud inside, but the food more than makes up for it. We split a full rack of ribs and they were delicious, love the sauce. The cole slaw was super fresh and crunchy. I really liked it, but my fiancee prefers it creamier. The french fries were great. They are a different shape, crisp on the outside, great taste. Mac and cheese was awesome, very creamy, cheesy, a slightly different taste that I think was parmesan. So, so good. Overall, 👍👍
Overall great service, considering food at 8pm was Luke warm. However all the food is very tasty and we'll seasoned. The Mac and cheese is to die for. Worth the 15 min walk down the lane for decent BBQ.
Very good burger and somewhat quick for New Orleans standards. Little pricy though.
Tasty, comfortable BBQ! Family friendly ! Handicapped accessable.
This place is huge, so on weekends when they are super busy, it doesn't feel cramped. There's nothing healthy on the menu, but despite this, and the fact that it's a little touristy, the brisket panini I ordered came out hot and flavorful, with a ton of chunky brisket. The barbecue sauce isn't overly sweet, either. It came out of the kitchen in a flash with a big scoop of deliciously seasoned chunky mashed potatoes. I also ordered a drink, which was a bit pricey, but typical New Orleans price. Ugly Dog is very convenient to Generation Hall, so I'd hit it again before a show.
Good casual atmosphere, good beer selection, far less touristy than most locations in the area. However, the food was not great.
Stopped in for lunch before going to WW2 museum. The rib sandwich was outstanding. My son thought the burger was one of the best he ever ate.
